As anticipated in our Apulian disposable series, on our last days of vacation we drove to Manduria to spend some recharging time in Masseria Potenti. In short, as one of the most typical structures of Puglia, a Masseria has the facade of an antique, local farm but inside its white walls hides a whole world of hidden treasures. A place to retreat, relax and reconnect with nature.
What positively impressed and inspired us about Masseria Potenti, aside from its rural beauty, is its family-centered identity. Born from the never forgotten love for their land of origin, Maria Grazia Di Lauro and her husband Paolo transformed the building into a dreamy place that became the home of gem apartments, a secluded pool, perfect for lazy dips, SPA treatments and a restaurant with moroccan furniture influences + Apulian dishes – all of this framed in prickly pear plants, succulents and luminarie del Salento.
During our first breakfast we had the pleasure of meeting Chiara, a young charismatic woman that we soon discovered to be the founders’ daughter, the one who now fully manages the place. Her tales about business and life adventures have been so intriguing and motivational to us that we are sure she has that light to make every host feel at ease and home. A perfect (girl) boss of the house.
Between ancient sheepfolds and farmers houses, our room boasted a private garden with an olive tree, lavender and herbs bushes, while inside the interior was clean and minimal, enriched by vaulted ceilings and a king size bathtub where to drown in hot bubbles.
WHAT: Masseria Potenti
WHERE: Contrada Potenti, 74024, Manduria
WHY: There is no Apulian trip with no Masseria stay. This one in particular gave us much needed chilled out vibes, surrounded by nature, tranquillity and a sky so beautiful at night you can catch shooting stars. For us is a five stars and a sure come back.
